Slock.it Security Proposal #1 is now verified, we look forward to you guys being able to vote on it!
We have now formally submitted our revised security Proposal to the DAO and confirmed our identities. This was done live on Google hangout on air and recorded for posterity on YouTube. It was our first time, so please be gentle :)
This Proposal addresses all current governance issues (and yes, this includes the much talked about ‘Vlad attacks’), it also includes extensive testing, all of which will be delivered at no cost.
It also on-boards an expert security professional, charged at cost (meaning: we’ll make no profit), to continue identifying and resolving such attacks for a year.
Some have asked to know the identity of this expert, and we’ll make this public shortly. He currently holds a role at an important security company and doesn’t want to jeopardize his relation with his current employer. But yes, as some of you probably guessed it, it’s none other than Dr. Y, the man who can read bytecode like Neo can decipher the matrix :)
You can read the proposal here, and study our formal submission on the DAOHub forum.
The basis of all DAO decisions is a vote by the Token Holders
Because this is your DAO, we leave this open to a vote. And because we feel there’s absolutely no need to rush things and potentially make mistakes, we also decided to push back the announcement our main Proposal for the EC/USN until this vote has concluded, so you can take your time, address other Proposals and make informed decisions.
We look forward to the vote and the many other Proposals that are sure to come up within the next 15 days. If you want to submit your own Proposal, you should! Instructions can be found on the DAOhub forum.
